Associated Artists of Central Iowa

Members of this organization are professional and amateur artists who come together for nine meetings a year. They share their original work and ideas, participate in exhibits, learn from experts, promote the viewing pleasure of the general public, and develop friendships with those of like interests.

This organization was founded in 1963 by a small group of artists from Des Moines and the surrounding area. It has since grown to nearly 80 members who work in the fine arts.

AACI members exhibit in two annual shows at Capital Square with occasional extra shows at the Polk County Heritage Gallery and the Ankeny Library. Member's works also can be seen at local galleries and restaurants.

If you are interested in becoming a member, submit six examples of your work: originals, photos or slides (any combination of these) for the next viewing by the Membership Committee. Please attend a meeting if interested in joining.
You are invited to join us at any of our meetings. We meet at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month from September to June (except January) at

Grace United Methodist Church
3700 Cottage Grove
Des Moines, Iowa
